As a people created by God in Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, called and sent to bear witness to God’s creative, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the world. Confession of the Triune God, Father, son, and Holy Spirit. Confesses the Gospel. Recorded in the Holy Scripture and confessed in the ecumenical creeds and Lutheran confessional writings, as the power of God to create and sustain the Church for God’s mission in the world.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.
Table Prayers
Come Lord Jesus
Come Lord Jesus, be our Guest
And Let these gifts to us be blessed.
The First Commandment
You shall have no other gods.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear, love, and trust God above all things.
The Second Commandment
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not curse, swear, practice magic, lie, or deceive using God’s name, but instead use that very name in every time of need to call on, pray to, praise, and give thanks to God.
The Third Commandment
Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not despise preaching or God’s word, but instead keep that word holy and gladly hear and learn it.
The Fourth Commandment
Honor your father and your mother.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we neither despise nor anger our parents and others in authority, but instead honor, serve, obey, love, and respect them.
The Fifth Commandment
You shall not murder.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we neither endanger nor harm the lives of our neighbors, but instead help and support them in all of life’s needs.
The Sixth Commandment
You shall not commit adultery.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we lead pure and decent lives in word and deed, and each of us loves and honors his or her spouse.
The Seventh Commandment
You shall not steal.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we neither take our neighbors’ money or property nor acquire them by using shoddy merchandise or crooked deals, but instead help them to improve and protect their property and income.
The Eighth Commandment
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not tell lies about our neighbors, betray or slander them, or destroy their reputations. Instead we are to come to their defense, speak well of them, and interpret everything they do in the best possible light.
The Ninth Commandment
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not try to trick our neighbors out of their inheritance or property or try to get it for ourselves by claiming to have a legal right to it and the like, but instead be of help and service to them in keeping what is theirs.
The Tenth Commandment
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
What is this? or What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not entice, force, or steal away from our neighbors their spouses, household workers, or livestock, but instead urge them to stay and fulfill their responsibilities to our neighbors.

Q: What time is service?
A: We worship at 8:30 each Sunday. Pastor Dennis is shared with Zion in Wyoming, and we rotate this service time with 10:30 worship time that is currently held at Zion. Service times switch every July.
Q: What is included in every worship?
A: Communion is served each Sunday, and the worship includes several readings, hymns, and prayers. The sermon preached by pastor Dennis Rodenberg is done from the aisle between the pews.
Q: What is communion?
A: Communion is the meal in which we gather to receive the gift of Jesus in bread as well as the blood of Christ in the wine (or grape juice). All are welcome, regardless of denominational affiliation or age. If you are interested in learning more and receiving instructions around the meal, Pastor Dennis offers Communion Classes on demand.
Q: How long is worship?
A: There is no determined length of service, but generally service lasts 45 minutes.
Q: How do people dress for worship?
A: The dress is casual to business-casual dress. No expectations or judgement around level of dress.
Q: What songs are sung?
A: We take our worship songs from hymnals, primarily Evangelical Lutheran Worship. This hymnal not only provides songs, but our order of service—called Liturgy.
Q: What about young kids?
A: Kids are welcome in service, and there is a good tradition of noisy kids being present! There are some busy bags during the service and a toys area for them to play during service if need to be focused on something else.
Q: Are there opportunities to serve in worship?
A: Yes, we have readers that read the lessons, but also have opportunities to serve communion, light candles, and offer prayers.
Q: Are there additional bible studies?
A: The Women’s Circle hosts a bible study each month—open to all, regardless of gender. There is a casual meeting called “Musings with Margs” which looks at more lived theology in our own settings. Pastor Dennis offers additional bible learning on demand.
